LES NOCTURNES DE CHAUVET

For Les Nocturnes de Chauvet, held in the park surrounding Grotte Chauvet 2 – Ardèche, Delacroix Studio created the entire musical and sound design dimension of this unique night-time experience. Conceived as an immersion into the myth of origins and a way to understand the phenomenon of decorated caves, the journey unfolds through twelve staged installations throughout the park.

Projections, immersive sound walks, shadow and light effects — this nocturnal exploration brings together a wide range of technologies and artistic skills to enhance the site and its history, offering visitors a truly magical experience.

Delacroix Studio composed the original soundtrack for the entire route, designed the specific sound worlds for each installation, and created the musical environment for the monumental video mapping projected onto the façade of the cave.
The studio also conducted ethnomusicological research to craft an authentic sonic universe inspired by prehistoric musical practices and natural acoustic environments.
